I just wanted to take a minute and post a quick Audible.com free trial link I found and talk about them a bit.
Back when I first got into listening to audio books online, I tried everything from searching on Google to wasting time on BitTorrent sites. The problem with trying to find a good audiobook recording is that they’re few and far between.
It’s difficult to find a new release or an unabridged copy with a voice that you can understand because nobody really has them. Audible.com fixes all that though.
Audible.com let’s you download high quality audio books to your MP3 player or to your computer. Then you can burn them to CDs. They’ve also got a number of apps for audiobook listeners on smartphones and blackberries.
Audible offers the most popular audio books online. If there’s a New York Times best seller, and it isn’t in Audible.com website then they’re usually going to be releasing it pretty quickly.
Another added benefit of Audible is that it’s a monthly membership. After your free trial where you get a free book, you get a token or a credit that you can use to buy any book that you want.
They’ve got higher plans too, if you get through more than one book a month – like me.
The bad thing about Audible.com is that they don’t support the Android platform yet (UPDATE: I did just see that they’ve released a beta app for Driods!). So, my mobile phone is a Motorola Droid, and it bothers me that I can’t download audio books right to my Droid yet. The platform hasn’t been around for too long.
From Audible’s point of view, they probably weren’t sure if the phone platform would be a success or not so they just halted development. I understand that.
Anyway, if you’re looking for audio books online, make sure you check on Audible.com. Like I said, they have a free trial, which is how I originally signed up. Not too many places have the link anymore so take advantage of it while you can!

My iPod has about 30 books on it, all loaded up for my cruise next week. I can’t wait! Love the service.
I’ve been signed up with Audible for years and like it a lot. I can honestly say I “read” way more than I would if I couldn’t listen to it in the car on the way home from work.
